Following the incredible success and dramatically increased guest numbers of the Bone Cancer Conference 2019, the Bone Cancer Research Trust have announced not one, but two conferences for 2020!
Inspirational stories, pioneering research, interactive science... The Bone Cancer Conference 2019 had it all. This unique event has become the UK's main support event for the whole bone cancer community with more patients and families attending than ever before. A guest of this years conference said:
It's reassuring to know I am not the only one feeling the way I do.
As our flagship support event, the Bone Cancer Conference is much more than just a conference. It is a safe, supportive environment full of information and helpful sessions to help tackle issues around mental health, feelings of social isolation and practical assistance with issues such as diet and amputations. 56% of guests reported a reduction in feelings of social isolation and loneliness after attending this years event and 100% of guests said they wanted to attend again.
Guests also reported a 63% reduction in feelings of anxiety after attending the Bone Cancer Conference, with guests mentioning that they forged many new friendships and relationships where they could gain mutual support moving forwards.
Throughout the day we heard from researchers at the forefront of developing new treatments and greater understanding of primary bone cancer, allowing guests to meet and ask questions in an informal environment about what the future holds. Younger guests also enjoyed specific childcare sessions and storytelling, giving them an opportunity to share experiences with other children and be creative through crafts and art.
In response to unprecedented demand this year and the Bone Cancer Research Trust's desire to reach and be as accessible to as many patients as possible, two conferences have been announced for 2020 with registrations open now.
The first will take place on Saturday June 13th at the Village Hotel, Watford, London. This will be our first ever London / South East conference.
The second will take place on Saturday 17th October at the Village Hotel, Ashton-under-Lyne, Manchester.
