5 marathons in 5 days to raise £5k in memory of Chris Chapman who passed away 5 years ago at 23 years old, from osteosarcoma.
Scott Cranmer, Sam Batchelor and John Raynor will be tackling the 5 marathons in 5 days, starting on the 14th of June. Their aim is not only to raise vital awareness but to also hit their target of raising £5,000.
The group shared with us a little more about themselves:
Scott Cranmer Age: 34
Scott has been doing challenges to raise money for Bone Cancer for the last 5 years. Starting off with Ironman UK in 2016 and then running 100 10k's in 100 days in 2017. Having had a couple of years off he's excited to be raising money and awareness again.
Scott has known Chris since he was about 5 or 6 years old, being a close family friend of both him and his parents.
Sam Batchelor Age: 30
Sam's the young pup of the group, suffering with crohn's disease he's no stranger to a gruelling challenge.
Sam is currently training for IronMan Majorca in May and has also competed in Outlaw Half a couple of years ago. Sam also completed a Scottish Highlands Marathon last year.
Sam met Chris through John and has known him 10 years
John Raynor. Age: 32
John has always been one for pushing himself out of his comfort zone. After competing in Nabba UK, he competed at Mr Lincolnshire and qualified for IBFA Great Britain coming 3rd.
John has known Chris for about 16 years, after meeting him at Tops Gym in Outwood. Chris introduced John to Mrs Raynor and has always been a close friend.
