As part of our 15th anniversary celebrations, in March we launched our largest ever research grant call. Now, thanks to the amazing fundraising efforts of the primary bone cancer community, we are increasing our potential research investment to £1million!
Over the past 12 months, the primary bone cancer community have been unwavering in their fundraising and support. Now, thanks to their efforts, we have been able to allocate £1million to our Anniversary Grant call. This means, subject to independent review and scrutiny by our Independent Scientific Advisory Panel, £1million could be awarded to new potentially life-saving research projects later this year.
Dr Zoe Davison, Head of Research, Information & Support, said:
Since announcing our 15th Anniversary Grant Call, we’ve been inundated with enquiries from the research community and we have received an unprecedented number of applications. To have to turn away potential research due to a lack of funds is a heart-breaking situation we often find ourselves in, but now we have the opportunity to invest even more into our research programme, a position we couldn’t even contemplate this time last year. The primary bone cancer community have gone above and beyond in raising crucial funds, we can’t thank them enough.
Our 15th Anniversary Grant Call invites researchers to apply for research grants across a spectrum of development stages and types, ranging from £25,000 Idea Grants to £250,000 Translational Grants. It is by far the our largest and widest ranging grant call to date. Researchers with exceptional ideas that may exceed stated grant limits are also encouraged to contact the charity's Research Team to discuss their ideas further.
