In November 2019, Freddie was diagnosed with metastatic Ewing sarcoma at just 6 years old and in 2020, Freddie’s family set up a Special Fund with the Bone Cancer Research Trust called Freddie’s Future.
Their aim is to raise funds for the development of new and better treatments, so that children like Freddie have a better chance of surviving Ewing sarcoma.
Since 2020 they have raised an absolutely incredible £105,611.18; enough to fund two whole years of vital research!
Since Freddie’s Future was set up, Team Freddie have made it their mission to raise as much as possible for research into Ewing sarcoma, with Freddie, now 8, cheering them on every step of the way! From bake sales and sponsored dog walks to marathons and sky dives, Team Freddie haven’t stopped, and they show no sign of slowing down.
Here’s a special message from Freddie himself…
Siobhan Cullen, Community and Special Funds Fundraising Officer at the Bone Cancer Research Trust, said:
The funds and awareness raised by Freddie’s Future is truly incredible! On behalf of everyone at the Bone Cancer Research Trust, and more importantly, future patients and their families, I would like to say a huge thank you to Freddie, his family and all the fantastic Freddie Fans for their support. We’re on the cusp of finding new and better treatments for Ewing sarcoma and this would not be possible without their wonderful support.
