8-year-old Libby is currently undergoing treatment for Ewing sarcoma. Libby and her family are fundraising so that we can continue with our life-saving research.

Libby decided to do a Bake for a Breakthrough raffle which involved Libby decorating cakes from her hospital bed, whilst having treatment. The family held a live ticket draw on Facebook, with Libby and her brother Dylan drawing the numbers for the winners.

Libby’s mum, Koryn shared:

Since Libby's diagnosis of Ewing sarcoma we were shocked to hear less than 1% of funding from the National Cancer Research Institute was used for research into primary bone cancer. We're supporting Bone Cancer Research Trust because they raise awareness and fund research that is so desperately needed for children like Libby.

Libby and her family have already raised over an incredible £4,000 towards our vital work, but their support doesn’t stop there. They continued their fundraising by holding another raffle at the start of December, followed by a karaoke night later in the month. The local community and friends of the family are all behind their efforts too, with a friend of the family organising a “guess the name of the teddy bear” competition, local shops putting collection cans on their counters and The Port House in Stourport-On-Severn hosting a Charity Night with entertainment and sponsored head shaves!

Siobhan Cullen, Regional Relationship Manager at the Bone Cancer Research Trust, said:

We’re so grateful to Libby and her family for all their support. Libby’s determination to make sure no other child has to go through what she is currently going through is so commendable. Libby you’re an absolute superstar! On behalf of everyone at the Bone Cancer Research Trust and future patients we really can’t thank you enough.
