In October 2023, we ran a digital survey to assess the impact of our information resources on the bone cancer community.
We asked a variety of questions about the format, accessibility, and trustworthiness of the resources we provide for patients and their loved ones.
Over 70 people completed the survey, and we would like to say a huge thank you to every one of you who shared your views with us, which will help improve our resources in the future.
What we do well
93% of the people who took part considered our information to be trustworthy because it is:
- Evidence-based
- Developed with doctors and experts
- Clear and easy to understand
Around 1 in 3 respondents accessed our healthcare information through our website, closely followed by posts on Facebook (around 1 in 5 respondents).
One key emerging theme was that, whilst people rely on healthcare professionals to provide information, they also seek out information themselves. This is where our resources prove useful for patients and their families, since you can be safe in the knowledge that we provide trustworthy information.
"The Bone Cancer Research Trust creates brilliant resources, and we frequently have parents ask for written information." - paediatric nurse
"The materials are beyond invaluable." - former osteosarcoma patient
"I was initially provided with a booklet through the hospital. It provided useful and supportive information when my son was having treatment." - parent of a patient
How your feedback informs our resources
Our resources contain useful information for people who are newly diagnosed, undergoing treatment, or in remission. By completing our surveys, you help shape the resources we create in the future. This means your opinions and experiences matter more than ever.
