Very sadly, Henry passed away November 2nd, 2010 when he was just 12 years old. Henry's mum, Jane, shares Henry's emotional story.

Henry had just started high school, and he was complaining about a sore leg. At first we thought it may have been growing pains but one day Henry started to limp so I took Henry to see his GP who referred him for more tests. We ended up taking Henry to A&E because his leg became swollen and the pain got worse, following an X-ray Henry was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. Everything moved quite quickly from his diagnosis, Henry was treated at Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary and Freeman Hospitals and underwent treatment, including chemotherapy and a titanium implant from his hip to his shin to replace the diseased bone.

Despite the chemotherapy and everything else, scans revealed that the disease had spread to his lungs, pelvis, lymph node system and his chest. We were given the devastating news that his condition was terminal. Henry passed away age 12, November 2nd, 2010.

Below you can watch Henry's mum, Jane, sharing Henry's journey with osteosarcoma and just some of the incredible work she is now doing in his memory through Henry Dancer Days.
